Margaret Keyser, a practitioner in conflict transformation and reconciliation, and originally from South Africa, will facilitate two sessions with the congregation over the weekend of October 14 and 15, as well as November 11 and 12, 2017.  Margaret will provide a safe environment for members to express their feelings and views about issues of race, culture, as well as other unresolved issues that may have led to hurt feelings and broken relationships in the recent past.
We hope to accomplish the following:

  1. Help the congregation listen to the stories, perspectives and feelings of fellow members;
  2. Provide the congregation with an opportunity to gain a new or clearer understanding of how different people see and experience different issues;
  3. Help the congregation address unresolved issues;
  4. Work to establish common ground, and a commitment by all to move forward with a process of conflict transformation, healing and reconciliation;
  5. To strengthen the congregation’s communication skills as they are sharing their stories and perspectives.
  6. Help members recognize this as an opportunity to come together as the Body of Christ, and to work towards renewed energy for the future.

We pray that God will guide us all to bring the congregation to a place of healing and restoration.
